About Our Parishes

A New Begining:
The Nashoba Valley Catholic Collaborative

was started on June 1, 2017 per the Archdiocese of Boston.  A Collaborative is when two or more parishes have one Pastor, Finance Council and Parish Council, but remain two seperate entities.

Saint Mary's

The Roman Catholic Parish of St. Mary is a rural archdiocesan parish located in Ayer, MA, that has been serving the Catholic Community of the Nashoba Valley since its founding in 1858. The parish is a multi-ethnic, socially, culturally, and educationally diverse faith community. Father Edmond Derosier, Pastor, and the entire community welcome you to Saint Mary's Parish!

Saint Anthony's Parish:

The Roman Catholic Parish of St. Anthony of Padua is also a rural archdiocesan parish, but located in Shirley, MA.  It was founded in 1905.  It, too, is a multi-ethnic, socially, culturally, and educationally diverse faith community.  Father Edmond Derosier and the entire community welcome you to Saint Anthony of Padua Parish!

Looking to the Future

Let us remember the words of Oscar Romero, “This is what we are about: We plant seeds that one day will grow. We water seeds already planted, knowing that they hold future promise. We lay foundations that will need further development. We provide yeast that produces effects beyond our capabilities.” Make me mindful of the gifts You have seeded in me. Bring them to fruition as I carry out my role. Attune me to the gifts of others so that, together, a garden of grace blossoms from our combined efforts.

About Our Parishes

Deeply committed to Jesus Christ, we endeavor to become a unified community of faith, worship, and service. We strive to be a warm, welcoming and caring parish in which the gifts and talents of all, young and old, are recognized and graciously used to nourish others.
